Achieving
More Together

Self-awareness

Development-focused education

We make the most of childrens’ natural need to play and discover. Emotional freedom, curiosity and self-confidence are central to this. We challenge children to make use of these qualities, which help them increase their self-awareness.

Learning through discovery

Theme-based games & research

All groups work with recurring topics, that feature in every aspect of our classes. Each theme, such as 'the baker' or 'space travel', lasts eight weeks. In the lower years, the children learn through play activities. In the higher years, learning is based on research.

Durable togetherness

Fair trade school

For us, it's important that children learn all about fair trade in a playful way. That’s why we use fair trade approved products at school and focus on this theme with a variety of activities. The school also has its own fair trade store Super Fair, which is operated by group 7 pupils.

Our School

School plays a crucial role in your child’s development. These eight years are essential to each child’s life. Throughout this period, you’re entrusting your child to your school of choice: a Christian school with an excellent atmosphere and a learning environment that suits you and your child.

Education at Ackerweide is development-focused, which means that we extensively examine six themes each year. These themes, such as bakery and space travel, recur in every aspect of our daily classroom activities. We adapt our education to the needs of each child. We are always looking for ways of helping the children go to school with a twinkle in their eye. Apply for an introductory appointment now!

Erik (5) wants to become a pirate

A very nice pirate, though. For at our Octant school, Eric learns how to work together with others. He also learns to choose wisely, so he may opt for ophthalmology instead of a career in piracy.

Ackerweide is part of Octant

Octant operates eight Christian schools in nine locations. Octant schools are characterized by their endless striving towards growth. We focus on growth through quality improvement every day. Staff regularly attend school themselves: our own academy, at which teachers and staff receive training that helps them become even better at their tasks, is just one way in which we realise our ambitions. We improve quality by constantly adapting our teaching to today’s society. We place an emphasis on science and technology. Three core values provide the bedrock for all our efforts: 'Self-awareness', 'Learning through discovery' and 'Durable togetherness’.
